Councilor heads public water group

RALEIGH - Raleigh City Councilor Nancy McFarlane has been named president of a group that advocates for public water rights.

The N.C. Water Rights Coalition has been advocating for the state to establish a trust that would own and manage the Yadkin River Hydroelectric Project on behalf of the citizens of North Carolina.
